Gold Standard Musicians

Serving St. Louis City and surrounding areas

What Wedding Workshop has to say about this Partner:

We are huge fans of all types of music and we were blown away when we heard Johanna play her piano live – it was mesmerizing and she has such a beautiful talent. Johanna and her team of musicians include piano, violin, and cello (the trio) as well as an electric string quartet, guitarists, and even drummers. They will work with you to choose songs and create the most ear-pleasing sounds during your ceremony, cocktail hour or reception. You’ll certainly set the mood with Johanna and her team at Gold Standard Musicians!

What makes you different?

Gold Standard Musicians are the very best professional musicians in St. Louis! We work in a variety of both traditional and unique ensembles, and we collaborate closely with our clients to create a personalized, perfect soundtrack to your wedding celebrations.

What would be your “Walking Up to Home Plate” song that gets you pumped up?

You know this is a really hard question to ask a bunch of musicians, right? I have to pick ONE. Maybe my current motivational, fun song is “Come Along” by Cosmo Sheldrake. It reminds me that life brief, beautiful, sacred and everything is more fun when you use your imagination! (And it makes me wanna dance.)

Below is an extensive Q&A we hope you find valuable and gives you an insight into the quality of work you can expect from this vendor.

Gold Standard Musicians has been in business since May 2019. I’ve been a musician for 25 years.

Piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, drums, voice. Have a vision for something else? Mariachi? Klezmer? Steel drums? I love helping people realize their vision!

All of our musicians are full-time professionals, so we’re always out playing somewhere!

We supply our own equipment, and typically like to use our own sound system (in most situations).
We do not typically attend rehearsals, but we plan everything to the last detail in the planning session. We then double and triple check everything with the venue, officiant, and planner.

We always fulfill client requests for music within a ceremony. If there are extensive pre-service or reception requests for songs outside our repertoire, we will begin charging rehearsal fees or an arranging fee. It depends on which ensemble you book!

We do not need a stage. Space required depends on the ensemble booked! A violinist or guitarist would require about 4×4, whereas a cellist or a keyboard would need more like 5×5.

It depends on the ensemble. Ensembles with drums or keyboard take the longest to set up, and that can typically be done in about 30 minutes.

Varies according to ensemble. Please see price sheet. We charge travel fees for venues further than 30 miles from St. Louis City.

All the musicians involved go through their entire phone book to find a replacement capable of stepping in. The other musicians booked (if any) will play and make it work if a replacement isn’t found. If we can’t find a solution, you will get a refund.

7 days before the wedding

The deposit is non-refundable. If you have to move your wedding date, we will absolutely work with you to shift the booking, but the deposit is non-refundable.
